How Often Should You Replace Your Vape Coils?
The average life of a coil depends on a variety of factors, such as what coil it is and what e-liquid is used with it. In general, we usually say a coil should around 1-2 weeks. However, we cannot be certain because all replacement coils and pods are produced in large volumes and not every coil is subject to quality testing. It would be impossible for the manufacturer to quality test every coil.
There are certain techniques you can use to preserve the life of your coil. For example, it’s essential that your coil is primed correct before it used for the first time. Failure to do this will result in your coil burning out straightaway. For pods with pre-installed coils that cannot be removed, simply put a few drops directly onto the wick and fill your pod up. After you have done this, take a dry pull to draw e-liquid into the centre of your coil. This will ensure that your cotton within your coil is completely saturated before usage.
Selecting appropriate e-liquids can also make a difference to your coil life. Choosing e-liquids that have less sweetener in them can help make your coils last longer. Furthermore, it’s always important to select the correct e-liquid for your coil. Generally, if your coil has a resistance below 1ohm, use high vg juices. If your coil has a resistance above 1ohm, use standard or nic-salt e-liquids.
