High VG E-liquids

High VG E-liquids

What Are High VG E-Liquids

High VG E-Liquids are e-juices that have a ratio of at least 60% VG & 40% PG. In other words, they contain more vegetable glycerine than propylene glycol. Since the introduction of shortfills,70/30 has become the most popular mix throughout the UK and EU.

A higher VG content allows vapers to create bigger clouds and benefit from more intense flavour. High VG E-liquids are generally used in sub-ohm tanks, RTAs and RDAs.

Some high VG vape juices are also referred to as Max VG E-liquids. Whist this is a misleading term and isn’t generally used by us, it generally refers to e-liquids that have a VG/PG ratio of 80/20.

Always bear in mind that with shortfills, the VG/PG ratio can be affected by what nicotine booster shots you choose to use and how much you use.

What Should I Use High VG E-Liquids In?

In general, High VG E-Liquids can be used in any sub-ohm tank, RTA, RDTA or RDA that has a resistance of below 1ohm. Coils that have a lower resistance can burn e-liquids with a higher VG content a lot more comfortably than coils with a higher (above 1 ohm) resistance because they operate at higher wattages.

If you use a high VG e-liquid in a mouth to lung or standard tank that has a resistance of above 1 ohm, you shouldn’t be surprised if you experience the following:

  • Burning taste from your tank
  • Reduced coil life
  • Leaking
  • Spit back

This occurs because coils above 1 ohm are not designed to be used with high vg e-juices and generally don’t support the higher wattages required to burn thicker juices. In this situation, you would be better off using e-liquids that have around a 50/50 VG to PG ratio.

What Are Shortfills?

Shortfills are generally high VG e-liquids that are free from nicotine and just contain flavour. They are called "shortfills" because they usually leave space for nicotine shots to be added. For example, a 100ml shortfill would come in a 120ml bottle so you can add nic shots and shake the bottle to mix them into the e-liquid. This further gave birth to the phrase "shake and vape".
