What Ingredients are used in E-liquids?
E-Liquids (eliquid, ejuice, e-cigarette liquid) mainly consist of vegetable glycerin (VG), propylene glycol (PG) and nicotine.
PG is the main flavour carrier and is also used to amplify the “throat-hit” which ex-smokers tend to crave. The higher the level of PG in any given e-liquid, the greater the throat hit will be. PG has been deemed as safe to inhale and is commonly found in asthma inhalers. Occasionally, some individuals can have a PG intolerance or allergy. If you do find this is the case, you can either switch to higher VG e-liquids, 100% VG e-liquids or e-liquids that have a combination of VG and Aqueous Glycerin (AG). In simple terms, AG is Glycerol or VG that has been diluted with distilled water.
VG, or Vegetable Glycerin is a sweet liquid that provides smoothness and increases cloud production. Higher VG content is found in e-liquids that are manufactured to be used in “cloud chasers” or sub-ohm devices. This are the devices and tanks that are responsible for letting off huge clouds of vape production.
Is Vaping Safe?
Whilst nothing maybe safer than breathing fresh unpolluted air and drinking water, vaping e-cigarettes has been approved across many countries worldwide and Public Health England have deemed vaping as 95% safer than cigarettes. To date, there has been no recorded deaths from the use of a tested e-cigarette in the UK.
Nicotine based E-liquids approved for sale in the UK must be compliant with TPD regulations which limits the overall nicotine strength and content per bottle. Nicotine strength cannot exceed 20mg and content cannot be greater than 10ml. Overdosing on nicotine is extremely difficult, especially with the permitted levels in the UK. Shortfill E Liquids which don’t contain nicotine fall out the scope of TPD but still need to be compliant with Consumer Laws.
Why is My Tank Leaking?
Tanks leak for a variety of reasons, including:
Coil Burnout
Incorrect E-Liquid
Inferior E Liquid
Damaged Seals & Glass
Incorrect Output Settings
How Can I Tell If My Coil is Burnt Out?
The life of a coil does depend on a variety of factors, and you cannot guarantee a certain life for them. A standard e-cigarette user can realistically expect their coil to last between 1-2 weeks. When a coil burns out, you will experience the following:
E Liquid Discoloration
Burning Taste
Leaking
Spit back
Error Messages on Device, For Example, No Atomiser
Sometimes coil can be dud or dead-on arrival.
The best way to preserve the life of a coil is by using the correct e-liquid and priming your coils. We have guides all over our website on how to do this.
How to Preserve Battery Life
Battery life is one of the most important factors to all vapers because nobody wants to be out and about with a dead battery. In the short term, one of the best ways to make your battery last longer is by opting for coils which require less power and are a higher resistance. Over time, users may notice a decline in the overall life of their batteries and the same happens with all electrical devices which require a battery, for example, mobiles and laptops. This is generally a result of natural wear and tear but can also be result of battery misuse. For vape mods which have an internal non-removeable battery, we recommend that you allow it to fully drain and then charge it back up to 100% with the appropriate USB cable and plug. If a manufacturer insists that it must charged using a 1A connection, charging that battery with a 2A charger will risk damaging the battery within your device, despite the fact it may charge faster.
Box Mods and devices which require external battery cells that are removal should be charged using a battery charger. This allows the batteries to fully restore their amperage and capacity. Charging these cells with a USB cable via a device will cause battery damage and reduced battery life.
Do Vape Devices Have a Warranty?
Like normal electrical products, warranty is offered on all our electrical devices and is subject to our terms and conditions. Unless stated otherwise, we offer 6-month warranty on all kits, mods, and battery chargers. They are also guaranteed by the manufacturer for a fixed period and are subject to their own terms and conditions.
