Disposable Vape: FAQs

Introduction

We've answered all the frequently asked questions below about disposable e-cigarettes.

FAQs

What Are Disposable Vape Devices?

Disposable vape devices provide an easy, compact and hassle free vape experience. They are supplied in small devices and have a pre-filled 2ml capacity with a maximum nicotine strength of 20mg. They are designed for one off consumption and users simply dispose of them once each device reaches the end of its useful life. They are ideal for starters and new vapers who want to test the waters before committing to a longer term e-cig device.

Can You Refill a Disposable Vape?

Disposable vape devices cannot be refilled and users can only use the pre-filled e-liquid that is supplied in them.

What Type of Nicotine Do Disposables Use?

Most disposables utilise nicotine salt, which allows users to vape a higher strength without the harsh throat hit caused by free-base nicotine. Nicotine salt also providers a more natural nicotine hit, which is perfect for ex smokers.

Who Should Use Disposable Vapes?

Disposables are perfect for starters and new vapers. We do not recommend them for experienced and long term vapers due to higher nicotine strengths and increased costs.

How Many Puffs Do You Get from A Disposable Device?

All disposable vape devices are batch produced so the actual amount of puffs a user can get from them varies. Manufacturers usually give an approximate value with each brand.

Are Disposables Regulated?

Disposable vapes are nicotine containing products and therefore, they are governed under the TPD regulations. This limits their capacity to 2ml and strength to 20mg. They must also be submitted to the MHRA for testing before they are sold to the public. Any disposable that has a nicotine percentage of higher than 2% (20mg) or a pre-filled content of more than 2ml cannot be legally sold in the UK. Like all vape and e-cigarette related products, you must be 18 or older to purchase these devices, regardless of how much nicotine they do or don’t contain.

Are Disposables Safe?

Disposables which have been submitted and passed the MHRA’s testing criteria should be relatively safe for consumption.
